Can Love Happen Twice? by Ravinder Singh

My rating: 2 of 5 stars To be frank, I am really disappointed with this book. The enthusiasm that was building inside me to read the book as soon as it came out has evaporated. Everything (Honesty, emotion, realism, punches, LOVE) that was present in the first book is completely missing this time. View all my reviews

Kasab (Son-in-law CUM Son-of-LAW of India)

There are a few things which I am really ashamed of our country, the Judiciary being one of them. There are endless examples to support my statement latest being the SC giving a stay order on the hanging of ******* terrorist Kasab. This is so so pathetic from the highest authority meant for serving justice to all. I know that I am not a legal expert, knowing the small details of how things run in courts. Still, as a common man, I find the reason (being brainwashed & working as a robot on orders) behind the stay order as a lame excuse. Come on, how can we keep on dragging things for a man who killed 166 innocent indians (Mumbai terror attack on 26/11), staged war against our country. It's been 3 years, and he is enjoying the loopholes in our system with changing statements and playing with possibilities. When I look up to other countries, few are so much efficient in handling crime & criminals, which leaves a BIG question in my mind as to why we are this much bad in protec...

The Anna Effect

The protest across the nation is at its peak since Anna Hazare has started camping at Ramlila Ground, New Delhi. I am wholeheartedly supporting the cause because I feel that if it has to start from somewhere, why not here? I do agree that CHANGE is not a matter of a magic click, but initiation is what is actually required, and this is the right time. We all have been part of corruption, either on this side of the table or that side of the table. So let us all awaken and let's contribute, a GOOD TIME is lying ahead for us or for the next generation. I participated in the procession from India Gate to Ramlila Ground yesterday, and believe me, guys, the atmosphere was euphoric. Being a part of it was amazing, everywhere it was a positive & patriotic vibe. The fight against a corrupt system is not going to end by being a part of a single rally. It's a long way ahead, and I am ready to take the path. JAI HIND Few Observations: 1. Nobody was busy checking out girls, which is usu...

Happy Independence Day

15th August is the day every year when India, the country with 1.2 billion people, celebrates its Independence Day. Along with all these, Google also does a little Doodle for us. This year, it's a "Google" text written on the Red Fort located in New Delhi. Today, our country became Independent. Many Twitter and Facebook users will change their Profile Pictures entirely to the Indian Flag or by adding a ribbon to their pics. This is the day dedicated to our Freedom Fighters and to the Army, Navy, and Air Force who have always kept us secure and have lived and died for us. We cannot repay them, it's not a favor, it's something that can't be done by everyone; only heroes can do it, and those at the borders are the real heroes. A Salute to all the Soldiers, Freedom Fighters, and everyone who has saved our lives directly or indirectly. We owe them Happiness, Support, Love, and our Lives.   Well, I wish everyone reading this entry and everyone you know A Happy Ind...

UP goes the worries DOWN goes the rating

It was certainly news when SnP downgraded the Rating of the US from AAA to AA+. Something symbolic like the USA losing its A. What is to be observed next is to see the effect of it on the other economies, especially the growing economies. India, among them, is already showing its reaction (-vely) since Friday. Sensex has plunged for 2 consecutive days. There is a selling pressure from the Institutional Investors or the FIIs, which is creating panic. But it's better to hold on to the cliff and let the wind of uncertainty pass. In simpler terms, I am going to HOLD ON to my portfolio and will not give in to the selling pressure. I would advise others to do the same. What I feel personally is that these are just the bubble effect, which is going to subsidize very soon. The Indian economy is strong enough and self-reliant to absorb the shock that is happening around the globe at the moment.

The Power of Smartphone

My current handset these days is "SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE". It is the 2nd smartphone for me (earlier I have used a Nokia 6270 in 2006). Feature-wise wise it's the best phone on the Android platform in the range of 13K-15K. It comes with a 5 MP camera(with flash), inbuilt GPS, Android 2.2, 800MHz processor, 3.5" display, Gorilla Glass display, and Multi-touch input. I have been enjoying the various apps preloaded plus installed by me on the phone. But I came across its real potential yesterday when I got a chance to use its GPS and Google map. I had to go to a very peculiar place in West Delhi where I had never been before. I tried calling a few friends of mine who live in West Delhi, but that was of no help. Then the idea of using the phone clicked for me, and I fed my destination into the phone. BANG, I got the route with landmarks & directions, and I was there within an hour. So it's not wise to say that phones are meant only to make and take calls. It can b...

The Story of Subversion

As I have started writing this post, the fortunes of two teams are changing in the European sub-continent side by side. Being an avid cricket lover (Jingoism involved), I was expecting a good contest in this second test match. I knew that there would be some rigidity in the first match as per the conditions & preparation, so the outcome didn't affect me a lot. I was pretty much positive about the turnaround for Team India in this second Test Match. And there were glimpses of the same at least till the end of the 2nd day's play. India was on top, and England was to lose this match. But unexpectedly, I am now writing about India's loss. Not only the match but also the honor of being ranked 1. England has, with lots of effort, used the "Trent Bridge" to climb to position 1 and throw the undeserved from there. Yes, Dhoni and his team no longer deserve the rank 1 in Test Versions of the play. It's crystal clear that India has played pathetically till now, ther...

To Get A Passport You Have To Pass So Many Ports

I had applied for a new passport finally in April'2011 after constant nagging by my dad for the last 7-8 months. Since I had an earlier affair with the department. While getting my sis's passport done 1.5 years back, I thought it would not be that much of an issue. The only difference was that her's was made in Tatkal quota (got in mere 8 days) and mine was applied through the normal channel. Picking up tips from some friends, I knew mine would take 5-6 weeks. But that was MY THOUGHT, a thought against govt's/system's/passport official's thought. The first week of August will be the 4-month anniversary of my application. The only silver lining is that it's really in process, which I have tracking through their website. The speed at which all this is getting done is really pathetic.

Rebooting Myself

I guess it's been a year since I have contributed to this page(BTW it's not like that that I was writing a lot earlier also). But I am giving myself a second chance to start all over again. Wish me luck!!!
